Dino 101. How do dinosaurs end up in museums?
That is an interesting question for four year olds and our intrepid paleontologists found out the answers for themselves. Through carefully prepared and hands on curriculum, our pre-kindergarten group discovered what it was like living as a dinosaur, oh so many years ago.
Dino 101 started in March and continued for about two months, culminating with a visit to the Academy of Natural Sciences in the last week of May 2013.
Our students jumped right in to the action, when on the first day, they carefully dug through different colored layers of sand and gravel, in our scaled down reconstruction of a dinosaur dig. When the children discovered a buried bone, they used charts to discover information as to the age of the bones that they found depending on the layer that they found it in.
